how can the development of resistant population of microbes and pathogens be minimised?
Answers
Explanation:
Antibiotic resistance is a serious public health problem. It can beprevented by minimising unnecessary prescribing and overprescribing of antibiotics, the correct use of prescribed antibiotics, and good hygiene and infection control. Somebacteria are naturally resistant tosome antibiotics
do NOT take antibiotics without prescription, and for physicians, don’t prescribe antibiotics unless it is necessary. Statistics show that 40% of antibiotics prescription for ear infection and 100% (!!!) of prescriptions for the common cold in the US annually are unnecessary. Our immune systems are capable of fighting off most infections, hence it is more harmful to you in the long run to take antibiotics when you don’t need them
ALWAYS FINISH THE FULL COURSE.
I personally know so many people that stop taking the antibiotics one they “feel better”. This is one of the WORST things you can do, just because the symptoms are no longer in effect, does not mean the infection is subsidized, and the originally small (under pathogenic) population that was not treated yet, will develop resistance and multiply. Always finish the course to completely eliminate the bacterial population.
