The distribution of the height and the landforms in a region or a continent can only typically shown in the Maps.

The first maps were prepared by taking the survey and triangulation process and this technique is followed till now.

Still satellite also uses the same technique triangulation to make maps.

In maps, they use different colours to distinguish the different heights and landforms like valleys, canyons, mountains, plateau, plains etc.
