How can the following properties be used. Explain with examples:
a. Malleability b. Ductility c. Sonority d.Conduction
Answers
hello buddy,
a.malleability-the property of metals to be drwan ino sheets is called malleability e.g.metals are gold, iron, aluminum, copper, silver, and lead. Gold and silver are highly malleable. When a piece of hot iron is hammered it takes the shape of a sheet.
b.ductility-the property od metals to be drawn into wires is called ductility e.g.Copper, aluminum, and steel are examples of ductile metals.
c.conduction- conduction is the transfer of heat energy by direct contact good example would be heating a tin can of water using a Bunsen burner. Initially the flame produces radiation which heats the tin can. The tin can then transfers heat to the water through conduction.
d.sonority- Sonority is the ability to produce a sound e.g.meatals like iron are used to make bells becuase they are sonorus
