Fresh water sources are polluted by organic and inorganic wastes and effluents discharged by industries into rivers. The main culprits are paper and pulp, chemical, textile petroleum, refineries, tanneries etc. industries.
The industries can be told to stop discharging the waste materials into the river by changing the link of drain pipe. People can be denied from bathing, washing clothes or doing any other activities (especially Religious Points of rivers).
