The rate of decomposition of hydrogen peroxide gets increased in the presence of manganese dioxide.

2H2O2----MnO2---> 2H2O + O2

Here manganese dioxide acts as a positive catalyst.

Manganese (IV) oxide was the only hydrogen peroxide catalyst that reaction rate was fast enough for applicable use. The other catalystreacted too slowly or did not decompose all of the hydrogen peroxide. Manganese (IV) oxide is the best catalyst to decompose hydrogen peroxide quickly.
