the acid rain polluted soil must be treated with alkaline substances to reduce the acidity of the soil
u can use calcium carbonate or calcium hydroxide in the field for it by-
Trowing some ground up marble or oyster-shells

It can be made fertile again by adding some salts of basic nature to soil,In order to neutralise it.
