Science fiction apparently seems to be an oxymoron as two opposite terms are juxtaposed where science talks about the realistic things and fiction about imagination. In science fiction the writers use both to express juxtaposition of the real and tge fantastic. The children in tge story and thier behavior seen as real as we can see in this world but the whole setting of the story is in the planet Venus where it rains continuously and the sun shines for an hour after every seven years. The basis of the story lies in the fact that space travel is a reality and people have left Earth to go to another planet and set up a civilization there. Ray Bradbury could present how tge kids enjoyed all summer in a day without making us question the very improbable human civilization in the planet of Venus. Thus the story is definitely a science fiction.
