how can to make a compound sentence

U need to join two sentences to make a compound sentence . So u will join two sentences using either 'and' or 'or' or 'but'.

Example if u r provided with two sentences
1. Shimla is beautiful
2. Shimla is quite cold..

Now the compund statement will be:
Shimla is beautiful but quite cold
