It's a very simple reaction .You just have to boil ethanol in concentrated sulphuric acid and ola….your ethene is prepared

Actually this is the most simple dehydration reaction involving alcohols as you don't need to bother which H atom you have to remove while writing the reaction.Oh yes if you are doing this practically then do handle the conc. Sulphuric acid with care

it can be converted by adding or using H2SO4 as catalyst



ch3ch2oh-----conc h2s04------ ch2=ch2+h20

as h2so4 is a strong dehydrating agent, it will absorb water.
