last night i had a dream that i went to manderley again.it seemed me that i was standing by the iron gate leading to the drive. and for a while i couldn't enter. the way was barred for me. there was a padlock and a chain on the gate. i called the lodge- keeper in my dream , and had no answer, and peeting closer through the rusted spokes of the gate i saw that the lodge was uninhabited.
