It is obvious from the poem that Aunt Jennifer is trapped in an unhappy marriage. ... The tiger symbolises what she has missed in her married life. Aunt Jennifer is weak,therefore,her feeble fingers fail to pull even the light needle. The reference to her wedding band suggests she is her husband's property.
