We cannot stop acid rain as there is many pollutants which get into the water and makes it acidic. Due to this it causes building to rust and damage. There are ways through which we can prevent this which are :
Galvanisation - This is a process through which we can apply a layer of zinc or copper over the iron places in the building so that we can avoid rusting.
Alloying - This a process in which we can make the iron places mixed with some brass , copper etc so that they do not rust and can be protected.
We can even cover the areas which are affected with transparent sheet so that it reduces the amount of moisture and rusting will not happen.
