ANSWER

The balancing of chemical equations is based on the law of conservation of mass

Law of conservation of massMass can neither be created nor destroyed.

To balance an equation, the number of atoms of each elements should remain the same, before and after chemical equation.

EQUATION:

Reaction of Methane with oxygen, and get the products are Carbon dioxide and Water

\bf{ CH_4(g) + O_2(g) \rightarrow CO_2(g) + H_2O(g)}

According to the given conditions:-

The number of atoms should be equal on both sides

On adding 2 atoms in oxygen in reactant and adding 2 atoms of hydrogen in product, we get a balanced chemical equation

\bf{ CH_4(g) + 2O_2(g) \rightarrow CO_2(g) + 2H_2O(g)}
