There are three types of crops:
1. Rabi crops: are sown in winter from October to December and harvested in summer from April to June. Eg: wheat, barley etc.
2. Kharif crops: are grown with the onset of monsoon in different parts of the country and these are harvested in September to October. Eg: paddy, maize etc.
3. Zaid crops: are grown between rabi and kharif season. Eg: watermelon, muskmelon etc.
