Experiment to to create a fountain using hydrochloric acid :-
As we know that hydrogen chloride gas is highly soluble we can use this to create a fountain .

Requirements for this experiment :-
- HCL gas
- Jet tube
- blue Litmus solution
- beaker and
- stand
- bottom flask
- Rubber stopper
___________________________________
- Take a dry round bottom flask filled with dry HCL gas .
- On the one mouth of the flowers fix a rubber stopper with two holes . From one hole p@ss a long jet tube and through other p@ss dropper with few drops of water .
- Now after that put that solution in a beaker containing blue Litmus solution, the solution must be blue we have to take care of it .
- Now we have to press the dropper .
- We know that Hydrochloric gas is highly soluble so in that drop of water the HCL solution will be dissolving. The dissolving solution will make vacuum .
- The outside pressure being higher uses the blue Litmus Paper solution inside through the tube .
- We will find that the blue Litmus solution turns red due to acidic nature of hydrochloric gas .
- We will find a red fountain inside the bottel flask.
