In a concave mirror, there are six cases... out of which only one forms a virtual, erect and enlarged image. In this case, the magnification is positive, and this is the only case in which it is positive.
While in other five cases the magnification is always negative, the image may be enlargedĀ or diminished depending upon the distance of the object from the mirror in respect of its focalĀ length.
