he leaf can be decolourised by boiling it and placing it in an alcohol bath.
It shows that white patches do not photosynthesize as iodine turns blue black in the presence of starch

●we can decolourise a leaf by keeping it in a double boiler and then immersing it in boiling alcohol
●alcohol is very imflammable so it is boiled using a double boiler
