The river pollution can be decreased in the following ways:

  1. Preventing Waste Disposal into the River: Solid waste, liquid waste, and plastics should not be thrown in the river. It makes the river water harmful for living organisms.
  2. Practice Organic Farming: The use of chemical pesticides and insecticides should be avoided especially in those farmlands which are close to the river.
  3. Water Conservation: Water that drains into the river should be treated priorly at Water Treatment Plants.
  4. Practice Good Disposal Practices in Industry: Industrial waste that majorly includes chemicals should be properly disposed of or destructed to prevent its toxic effects on aquatic life.
  • Hence, by practicing some of these ways pollution of river water can be reduced.
