Work is the product of force applied and the distance moved by the body in the direction of force applied. It simply means that when a body moves after applying force to it , work is said to be done. In physics, work has a different meaning from real life , in daily life when we learn something we said that we had done work. But in physics, if the force is applied but there is no distance covered them no work is done, example pushing a wall.
