glucose acts as reducing agent when reacting with fehling solution so equivalent weight of glucose in fehling solution (acts as oxidizing agent ) reaction will becalculatef as follow molecular weight divided by loss of electron in the reaction i.e.180/2 so 90 would be equivalent weight of glucose as oxidation state changes in glucose molecule is +1 to+3 during reaction so net loss of electron is 2 per mole of glucose and it is a redox reaction
