how can we differentiate between the question of direct and inverse proportion.

in direct proportion if one value increases the other is also increased.
in indirect proportion it reverse

In direct variation both quantities decrease and increase together.

For Example:- Cost of 2 toys = Rs 10
Then cost of such 5 toys = 10/2× 5
= Rs 25

In inverse variation one quantity increases while another decreases.

For Example:- 2 men can build wall in 10 days
5 men can build it in= (10×2)/5
= 4 days
