A secant is a line that passes across a circle dividing it into to segments and extends in both the directions outside the circle also and touches 2 points on the circle whereas and tangent is a line that touches the circle only at 1 one point and does not pass through it.ex- tyre of a bike and a smooth road , where the road is the tangent.
