  • Stop Revealing Your Caste - “What is your caste?” is a common question. I wonder why people bother to answer this question. I always say that I do not belong to any caste. People should stop revealing the caste when searching for a house rent or just having a casual talk. If a person who asks this question gets such a reply twice, he or she won't ask this a third time. Removing surname from caste - This is a subdivision of the first one. Be equal in your mind - The problem with the caste system is that the people are mentally slaves to it. The lower caste unnecessarily gives respect to the upper caste for no apparent reason other than birth. Stop this mentality. This unnecessary subordination of people to another group of people just on basis of birth is what created this complex system. First believe that you are neither superior nor inferior to anyone by birth. Stop advertising for same caste partners during marriages - This is so sick. However educated a person is ( education here refers to college degrees and foreign exposure etc not mental education), the person still wants to have a partner from the same caste and subcaste. Be fair - While giving jobs, be fair and stop favouring people from your caste or religion. It must definitely be on basis of pure merit. Same thing for internships, work experience etc. Finally remove reservation - Often people who are from well to do backgrounds and have not faced any form of discrimination use the reservation system thus depriving this from people who really need it.
