how can we extinguish flame using calcium carbonate

Explanation:

Calcium carbonate releases vapours of carbon dioxide near fire and carbon dioxide covers the flame like a blanket hence cutting the supply of oxygen to the flame. Oxygen is very essential for burning. So when there is no oxygen, the flame will extinguish.
