At first find the prime factors of 16 - 2*2*2*2or 2^4

then find prime factors of 20- 2*2*5 or 2^2*5

to find the hcf the formula is - the lest power of the common factors=2^2=4 so the hcf of 16 and 20 is 4.

Now to find the lcm the formula is - highest powers of the common factors *remain factors=2^4*5=80
