the valency of poly atomic ions are found using the charge of the ion
that is the valency is equal to the charge of the ion
for eg in case of so4s ulfur has oxidation no of +6 at max and oxygen is -2
that means charge of so4 is equal to 6-(4*2) =-2 which is also its valency

Eithet by drawing the structure or by extracting their oxidation no. From their compoud....eg.sulphuric acid, sulphurous acid, carbonic acid
