In an acid H+ ions will be present and in base OH- ions will be present. In salt it will be neutral

if the formula has
hydrogen and a negative ion
Like u see HCl
or in case of organic acids
if you find COOH in the formula it is an organic acid like CH3COOH
for base u can look for oxide or hydroxide of metal
if the formula has a metal positive ion except hydrogen ion and negative ion except OH-ion it is a salt
if you find H in a salt it is an acidic salt
like NaHSO4
