Actually a cicle is formed by many lines of the same length. In order to find the area of the circle we miltiply a pi because the no. Of radii arranged in a circle is infinite .hence the area of the circle became pi r square The area of a rectangle is thus obtained by multiplying the length and the breadth since these two measures together constitute a rectangle When the length and breadth are equal a square is formed with equal sides and hence its area becomes side × side
