how can we identify by a chemical equation weather a precipitate formed or a gas liberated in a reaction​

For Precipitate we write (ppt.) in bracket and for gas we write (gas) in bracket.......

Generally, precipitate is formed in double displacement reaction and gas is formed when metal reacts with acid. In this way we can identify the reaction produces a precipitate or gas in the product.
