If you are finding carbohydrate in food the there should be starch so put 2-3 drops of dilute iodine solution if it turns black and blue it means it indicates starch.

If you're finding protein in food you will first need to make a paste or powder of the food then put it into a test tube and add 10 drops of water to it then shake the test tube. Now using a dropper,add 2 drops of solution of copper sulphate of caustic soda to the test tube

.Shake the test tube well and stand it for few minutes .If it turns violet that indicates the presence of protein.

If you're finding fats in food ,take a small quantity of a food .Wrap it and crush it .Take care the paper does not tear. Now straighten the paper and observe it carefully if you find an oily patch, hold the paper against light and if the light faints through the patch on paper that indicates the presence of fats.
