1) Skill-based Learning
As of now, the Indian education system is such thateveryone is forced to study science and math. If thissystem can be revamped to identify the strengths ofa student, then they can be given appropriatetraining in the chosen field. This will ensure that thechild shines in that particular field.
2) Rural Education
A sad thing about the Indian education system is thefact that its focus is only on urban clusters. Thereare hardly any decent centres of learning in the ruralareas. This is especially true in terms of highereducation. If a country has to actually develop, urban and rural development have to go hand inhand.
3) Gender Neutral Education
The Indian education system has always favouredmen over the fairer sex. The major change that mustbe brought about is to involve women in the same.Particularly subjects that are now considered to bethe strength of men alone (like carpentry, engineering, etc.) should be made more accessibleto women. Pioneer women in these fields should begiven due encouragement and appreciation.
4) Teacher Training
India has a very good quality of dedicated teachers. However, the sad fact here is the fact that after theyjoin this service, they receive little or no training. Insuch a situation, giving them periodic training willnot just ensure that they are updated with thechanging times, but will also improve the entireeducation scene of the country by leaps and bounds.
5) Infrastructure
As in every other sector, the Indian education sectoris one that suffers from the acute death of infrastructure. Most of the government schools donot even have proper chairs, tables, restrooms, letalone a playground, libraries and laboratories.
