Please provide exact HP model and intel processor variant to check if you can expand it or not.
.
- Assuming your processor supports 8GB of RAM and you are running 64-bit version of windows you can go for an upgrade to your nearest HP service center and ask them to install another 4GB module.
- Assuming your processor supports 8GB of RAM but you are running 32-bit version of windows, The windows will not be able to utilize the 8GB of physical RAM present. So in this case you need to re-install a 64-bit variant of windows and then do an upgrade.
- Last scenario is you have 2 slots of ram and currently only one is having a 4GB of RAM module you can buy another 4GB module and install. or you have 2GB modules each on slots so you can choose now to buy 4GB (so total 4+2=6GB RAM) or single 8GB module.
