People should look after their health as a duty for society, rather than personal benefits. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

In today’s society, healthcare has evolved as a major topic of concern. Personally, my view is that it is both personal interests and social duty for a person to take good care of his or her health.
To begin with, I believe people are taking care of their health mostly for their own well-being. This is because life is valuable and human beings always desire long lives by keeping themselves as fit as possible and seeking medical attention whenever they contract any diseases. This is shown in the high number of fitness centers and hospitals these days, and although the costs of those services are relatively high, they are attracting a wealth of customers. This is a proof that the general population is willing to spend a great deal of money on their own benefits.
