1.) robot with simple arrangement of moters and provided with external switches for direct control or with wireless control using simple radio frequencies, it does not have any feed back loop mechanism ,a human plays a role of connector between robot and sourrounding.wheels are attached according to need ,and it's quite hard to make a biped one in this type.
2) .this type of robot is quite complex because you have to have basic knowledge of electronic circuits, maybe a microcontroller (I suggest Arduino is good for beginners) for creating a feedback loop mechanism using different types of sensors,and some basic knowledge of arduino coding which you can learn by taking online courses,you can go for biped one with this type of arrangement.
