how can we make soft water into hard water ​

HEY MATE HERE'S YOUR ANS....

to turn soft chlorinated water into hard water. I have with me aquarium calcium powder and calcium carbonate salts the kind for coral reef aquariums...can someone tell me if these salts are any good for making hard water..if so...how how much do I use to get them to be like the hard water that you folks have in your water system.....thanks a lot in advance

Depends on where the "soft water" came from, and how much mineral content you want.

"A typical water-softening system removes calcium and magnesium ions from hard water and replaces them with sodium ions."

Basically soft water contains bicarbonates so to get the hard water we need to add the calcium and magnesium salts .

You would have to remove the sodium, and replace the calcium and magnesium.

You could put the water through an RO filter which would remove the sodium, and every other mineral. What you get would be pure H2O.

Then you could add Ca-Mg tablets . And let it sit overnight.
