Primary sector goods are goods that can be regarded as raw materials. This sector includes activities such as crop production, animal products such as raw milk and eggs,mining of copper and gold and other natural resources and their processing and even fishing.

Historically, the primary sector was highly labor intensive. Now it is highly mechanized and does not employ as much human labor as it used to.

It relies heavily on technology and machines such as mining rigs and milking machines for cows.

Primary sectors are highly volatile. For example the price of crude oil or steel keeps fluctuating.

It is a major source of revenue for the countries. For example Dubai and other  oil producing companies have made a lot of money from the export sale of oil.
