For solid state-

1)Compressibility of metals

After a very high pressure is applied to a metal when we compare the volume of the metal it would have decreased.

2) Formation of Na-Hg amalgam

When Na metal and Hg liquid are kept in contact with each other Hg liquid diffuses into the spaces inbetween Na particles,a certain area of Na will become black

For liquid state-

1) Mixing of two liquids

When two liquids are mixed with each other they fill the spaces present in each liquid.

ex- Let's Say liquid A (50 mL) is added to liquid B (50mL), The result is A/B solution (98mL)

Here we expect the resulting solution to be 100 mL but we get a less result.

2) Brownian motion

A water droplet is taken to a glass slide, very light particles like pollen particles, smoke particles or dust particles are dissolved. The sample is observed through the high power of microscope.

The dissolved particles moves fast, continuous and random,This movement is called Brownian motion.

This is observed due to the collisions of the water particles with the pollen particles.

This proves that spaces are found in between the water particles.

For gas state -

1)Colour diffusion in air

ex - NO₂ gas is Brown

Cl₂ gas is light green

2) Compressibility of gases

When a gas is compressed it's volume is reduced.

This proves the discontinuous nature of matter.

Hope this helps!
