A rational number is a number that can be written as a ratio. That means it can be written as a fraction, in which both the numerator (the number on top) and the denominator (the number on the bottom) are whole numbers.

An irrational number can be written as a decimal, but not as a fraction.

An irrational number has endless non-repeating digits to the right of the decimal point.

A rational number is a number which can be written in the form of p/q, where p and q are integers and q is not equal to zero...... For eg. ==> 9,2, 4/6, 7/9 etc....... NOTE :- 0 is also a rational no. as 0= 0/1......... Whereas irrational numbers are vice versa......... The numbers written under root ( √ ) which can't be simplified more like ..... √3, √7, √11 etc.......... NOTE : √4= 2, √9= 3, √64= 8 so these are rational no. Not irrational.....
