Representation of the root x on the number line:

1) Draw any line and mark A and B of any length which is considered as x units.

2) Produce AB to C such the BC is of 1 unit.

3) Then bisect the AC  at D.

4) With center D draw a semi circle from A to B

5) Draw a perpendicular at B to AC which touches the semi circle at E. Then the obtained line BE is root x only.
