The files can be restored in windows 7 with the following steps:

step 1:

go to the start button and search for the control panel.

step 2:

in the control panel go to system and security.

step 3:

in the system and security go to backup and restore.

step 4:

there you will find the backup and restore options. click the restore my files button.

step 5:

there you can browse for your files or documents and the folder's name will be displayed. then click onto the next button.

step 6:

you can restore your file to the original place by clicking the first option and also you can keep it in whatever place you want by typing the name of the place in the second option.

then your files will be restored
