How can we say that Indian elections are democratic? Give any one reason.

An independent and powerful commission appointed by the President of India to conduct free and fair election is called ElectionCommission. The commission has three members and once they are appointed, they are not answerable to the President or the government.

Most democratic constitutions hold elections fixed regular intervals and the elected officials are accountable to the people. A election is a process of taking decisions by which general public elect a representative having more people support to perform duties of public office.

Elections make a fundamental contribution to democratic governance. Because direct democracy—a form of government in which political decisions are made directly by the entire body of qualified citizens—is impractical in most modern societies, democraticgovernment must be conducted through representatives.

because elections takes place after fix interval
because every citizen can vote and each vote has equal value
because in most cases the ruler loose the elections that shows elections are democratic
every citizen can stand in elections
