I do feel THE holy book is for the honourable President to 'keep'. The Parliament may, borrow it from him and add pages to it whereas the Supreme Court may, tear  down the pages added by the Parliament. But as long as the Parliament  does not modify the Constitution, in a manner of 'ultra vires',  the  Supreme court does not come into play. They limit each other  & cannot one-up each other, ideally & the book is not theirs to  keep. The honourable President is above them and given a unique position  in so far as I would call him the point of intersection of the medians  to an equilateral triangle, whose 3 vertexes represent the Legislature,  The executive & The Judiciary - being the only person to posses all  the three powers.

After a constitutional amendment has been given  the assent to by him ( which he must ), he passes it on to the Supreme  Court, who now, does it's duty of examining the pages added.
In other words, when a constitutional amendment is not underway & when an amendment is not under judicial review, the book is safe with the honourable President.

The  Constitution is the collective soul of the people of India. The  honourable President keeps it. The Parliament & the Supreme court,  both borrow it from him for a short while, do their part and give it right back to him.  He is thus,  the custodian - Vishnu ( who protects, preserves &  defends the Constitution & the law )  whereas the Parliament is  Brahma the creator & Supreme court is Shiva, the destroyer.- copied
