How can we say that matter is purely made of particles?

If you goes on cutting a matter into pieces, then those pieces into pieces and you continue to do this until you get the smallest portion of matter which is a particle.

So matter consists of particles. The indivisible part of matter is particle if it exist.

Research is still going on to get that particle in the matter. Scientists have made it to Higg's Boson particle or the god particle which is the smallest quark known. There may be the existence of smaller quarks than this God particle.
