Harappa was the first site to be discovered and excavated in 1921 by Daya Ram Sahni under observation of Sir John Marshall.
--It was in Harappa that archaeological evidences of urban settlements were first discovered.
--Harappa has been regarded as the cradle of the civilization in the Indian subcontinent.

● First European to see ruins of the Harappan civilization was Charles Masson.
● Daya Ram Sahni was given the title of 'Rai Bahadur' by the then Governor of Punjab in 1920 in Rawalpindi Durbar.
