So most sound waves in solids are just pressure waves .
We hear the soind emmited from solid beacuse of resonance . Resonance is when an object occilates at a specific frequency that cause it to increase in amplitude . This is simply moving back and forth , like a heavy metal guitar string.

u can here the sound for example take the iron rod and at one side hit it with spoon and on other side u can here the sound
