Sublimation is the method of separation used to separate a mixture of salt and ammonium chloride.

Explanation:

• Take a tripod stand and place wire gauze on it.
• Place a china dish on the wire gauze.
• The mixture must be taken it the china dish.
• It must be covered with a glass funnel in an inverted position.
• The upper end of the funnel must be closed with cotton plug.
• Switch on the Bunsen burner.
• As mixture is heated, ammonium chloride gets released in form of gas and gets collected in the funnel whereas the salt remains in the dish.

By this way a mixture of salt and ammonium chloride is separated.
