This can be done by the process of Decantation. The explanation is as follows:
Pour the mixture into a separating funnel and wait till the layers have separated.Now open the stopcock to let the water out of the funnel and close it back after all the water is out,leaving the oil inside.(Oil forms the upper layer since it's lighter than water).
