how can we show that 4√2 is an irrational number

Hey mate, here goes your answer.
Let us consider two coprime no. a and b then b not = to 0 thus 4✓2=a÷b then if ✓2=a÷4b then as we know if a÷4b is rational then ✓2 is also rational but this contridicts our assumption as we know ✓2 is irrational therefore this contridicts our assumption and therefore 4✓2 is an irrational no. 4 root 2 is an irrational number because if we find out the value of root 2 we will get it in decimal so when we will get it in decimal it is considered as an irrational number
