How can we test bases using phenolophtalien

phenopthelen is an artificial indicator..or synthetic indicator.. it changes colour when an acidic or basic solution is added so of course.. WE CAN TEST BASES WITH PHENOPTHELEN it turn into majenta once we add a base in it..

if we add few drops of any base in phenophthalien the solution turns pink. this shows that the solution is basic in nature
