And now, in a slightly Sheldonian way, I can tell you that this joke relies upon the double meaning of “make up everything” as both everything they say being a lie, and everything being comprised of them.  A truly excellent pun I’m sure you’ll agree.  And every time I read it it makes me chuckle, but then it makes me shake my head and sigh.

Because it’s wrong!
